Jensen is the author of two biographies of real Oklahoma cowboys who became cowboy movie stars: The Amazing Tom Mix - The Most Famous Cowboy of the Movies and The Nicest Fella - The Life of Ben Johnson, the World Champion Rodeo Cowboy Who Became an Oscar-winning Movie Star.
A high-profile criminal defense lawyer, Jensen is also a popular novelist. He is the author of the acclaimed novels Ashes and Dust and Tristeza, which was submitted for the Pulitzer Prize. His novel When Curly Won A Cathouse and Harkan's Bride, a collection of Western short stories, have brought Jensen legions of fans.
